Paws Providing Purpose
Meet the Founder
Stella Eden Higdon is the founder and visionary behind the service-rooted organization Paws Providing Purpose. Higdon is dedicated to spreading advocacy for shelter pets and supporting various animal rescue leagues through Paws Providing Purpose across the state of Tennessee and beyond. She created and established this organization because of the profound impact animals - eleven in her own family - have had on her life. In fact, animals helped Higdon’s family tremendously during several difficult moments. Through this experience, she developed a passion for helping animals in need and the organizations that care for them. Not only does Higdon plan to promote Paws Providing Purpose, but she also aims to expand and grow the organization in the future. Please join me in welcoming the visionary founder of Paws Providing Purpose, Stella Eden Higdon.

Stella Higdon created the Little Free Pantry in her hometown of Bruceton, Tennessee, to provide essential supplies for both people and animals in need. She developed the idea, built the pantry with the help of her family, and continues to donate to it regularly. Through her dedication and compassion, Higdon is truly making a positive impact in her community with the Little Free Pantry.
Stella Higdon created her own children’s book series, Paws and Pages, inspired by her eleven cherished pets. Through this series, she highlights each pet and connects them to a positive character trait that reflects their unique personality. The series is designed to teach children about kindness, compassion, and strong character while also encouraging animal advocacy. Through classroom visits and readings, Higdon has reached more than 800 children. She truly believes that the future of the world lies in the youth, which is why she is passionate about sharing animal advocacy and positive character values in classrooms whenever possible.
Stella Higdon enjoys hosting bake sales to raise funds for animals in need at local humane societies. She organizes these fundraisers through her own bakery, Cedar Street Sweets, which she founded in 2020. Through these bakery events, Higdon has supported numerous organizations and has raised over $10,000 for local humane societies in her hometown. Combining her passion for baking with her love for animals, Higdon takes great pride in creating delicious treats while giving back to her community.
